Now on to the search for lodging! While in Gatlinburg we normally find a hotel to stay in, and as I before mentioned the spontaneous nature of our trips, The search can sometimes be long and disastrous. OK, it was only bad one time when every single hotel was full and we had to go to a neighboring town to try and find something. We finally found a Family Inn in Newport, and we so worn out by this time we would have taken anything. When we got to our room we ended up turning right around and finding a walmart to buy our own sheets and pillowcases. But such is life when you like to live on the wild side:). This time Chris decided that we should try out a chalet or cabin. We ended up finding a rental company that would let us rent a cabin for one night and went to find it, hoping that we would not have to go purchase new bedding. On the way Rogan kept looking out the window and saying, "Hi Monkey!" Chris asked him where the monkey was and he said, "In trees!" As we pulled into our cabins drive way, I happened to see the "monkey" when he did. He very politely greeted this squirrel with an enthusiastic "Hi monkey!" I can see his logic, they climb trees, and have tails so they are obviously not apes. He also has more experience with monkey's from the zoo, since our dogs pretty much keep the squirrels out of our yard. Our cabin turned out to be great, with a hot tub outside on the screened in deck where Ameryn got to "swim", and a huge jacuzzi tub in the master bedroomWhere Rogan got to play. He didn't care for the jacuzzi:). The kids got to sleep upstairs and Rogan had so much fun climbing up and down them.
Rides in the super sweet spinning chair was also a plus.It was so nice to have a place where you didn't have to worry about disturbing other people! I don't know if we can go back to a hotel after this!
